This non-removable restoration replaces one or more missing teeth. It uses the natural teeth on either side of the gap as anchors. The false tooth in the middle is called a pontic. We offer traditional metal-ceramic bridges and all-ceramic (zirconia) bridges. A bridge helps restore your ability to chew, speak, and smile with confidence.
A bridge typically requires only two visits. We can complete it in two to three weeks. Many patients choose a bridge when adjacent teeth already need crowns or when implant surgery is not preferred.
Leaving a gap sometimes causes neighboring teeth to tilt or drift. A bridge fills the space and may help maintain your bite alignment.
We review the gap, the health of the surrounding teeth and gums, and your bite. Digital X-rays help us see the root and bone levels. If we find cavities or gum disease, we may recommend treating those first.
We use local anesthesia and gently reshape the teeth on both sides of the gap so they can support the bridge. We then take a digital or physical impression. A temporary bridge is placed to protect your teeth and maintain function.
We record the color of your natural teeth. This helps the laboratory create a restoration that blends in naturally.
Your second visit is usually 7–14 days later. We remove the temporary bridge, check the fit and bite of the permanent bridge, and cement it into place. We make sure you can bite comfortably before you leave.
Learn how to floss under the pontic using floss threaders or a water flosser. Regular checkups help us monitor the bridge and the health of the anchor teeth.
Our team will help you make the right decision.
