Dentures

“Sonora Dental Group is the best; they sponsor two kids in the youth football program. Go Diablos Football, thank you for your support.”

What Are Dentures?

We offer acrylic, flexible nylon, and cast metal partial dentures and conventional full dentures. We also provide implant-retained overdentures for patients who desire greater stability. Dentures will help to restore chewing function, speech, and facial support.

These removable dental appliances replace missing teeth and surrounding tissues. They come in two main types. Partial dentures replace one or several missing teeth. Complete dentures replace all teeth in a jaw.

Why Patients Choose Dentures at Sonora Dental

Custom fit for comfort and function

We take precise functional impressions and record your jaw relationship. This helps create a denture that fits your mouth comfortably. Many patients appreciate the ability to try a wax model before the final denture is made.

Options to fit different needs and budgets

Partial dentures can be made with metal frameworks, flexible gum-colored nylon, or acrylic. Full dentures can be conventional or immediate. We help you choose based on your clinical situation and preferences.

How the Denture Appointment Goes

01

We begin with a complete oral examination.

We review your remaining teeth, gum health, and bone ridges. Digital X‑rays or a panoramic image helps us see underlying structures. If we find infections or problematic teeth, we may recommend treating those first.

02

We take functional impressions.

We record not only the shape of your gums but also the moving tissues and muscle attachments. This helps achieve better retention and comfort.

03

We record your jaw relationship.

Using a facebow or bite registration, we determine how your upper and lower jaws come together.

04

You will have a wax try‑in appointment.

Before the final denture is processed, you will see and feel a wax model with artificial teeth. We adjust the tooth shape, color, and fit of the pink base until you are satisfied. This reduces the risk of dissatisfaction with the final product.

05

We deliver your finished denture.

Once you approve the wax try‑in, we process the final denture. We place it in your mouth, check the fit and bite, and make any minor adjustments. You will receive written and verbal instructions on insertion, removal, cleaning, and overnight care.
